Launch crashes on south seawall

A launch has crashed onto the outer seawall on the south side of Malé City.

Information Officer of MNDF, Ibrahim Azimsaid that the launch, "Muiri 1" crashed on the seawall with four people on board around 6:50 p.m. this evening.

It is unclear if anyone was injured in the incident.

A total of six vessels have crashed on the seawall on the south side of the capital city in the past seven days or so with five injuries and massive damage to property.

An year after a part of the sea was reclaimed to build an industrial zone and developed a port on the south side of Malé, the Housing Ministry say that the port project is not yet complete.

Today, too, the Ministry said that it is not safe to use the port yet.
