The trial in the murder of Ismail Umar (Isseh) from Lhaviyani Hinnavaru, who was found killed in the ice plant run at Haa Alifu Ihavandhoo, has been cancelled.
The murder trial against the Bangladeshi national Shumon Mia was set for 2:20 p.m. today. It is unclear as to why it was cancelled.
Isseh was found slayed on 16 June 2017 inside the accommodation room at the ice plant at Ihavandhoo where he works. Police said that Shumon has confessed to the crime during the investigation.
Two more people are charged in the murder, both nationals of Bangladesh. They are charged with intentionally hiding a death.
