4 MPs lose their seat

Four parliamentarians elected to People’s Majlis as Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) candidates have lost their seats after People’s Majlis confirmed to Elections Commission they have received the letter informing them of their removal from PPM membership roster.

The four parliamentarians are:

1. Thulusdhoo MP Mohamed Waheed Ibrahim (Wadde)

2. Vilingili MP Saud Hussain

3. Maduvvari MP Mohamed Ameeth

4. Dhidhdhoo MP Abdul Latheef Mohamed

EC informed People’s Majlis they were no longer members of PPM last Tuesday.

“Sun” has received confirmation that People’s Majlis sent a letter to EC confirming they received EC’s letter.

“Sun” is, however, not yet privy to details of the contents of the letter, and was unable to contact Secretary-General of People’s Majlis or Elections Commission for details.
