Maldivian arrested from Thiruvananthapuram Airport with hashish

A Maldivian has been arrested from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport for suspected possession of 700 grams of hashish oil.

Indian newspaper “The Hindu” reported the suspect as a 25-year-old Maldivian man named Luthufy Mohamed. The paper reported he was arrested last Tuesday, July 4.

“The Hindu” reported the man had been returning to Maldives after a one-week vacation when he was arrested by the airport aviation security during checks.

The hashish oil had allegedly been pasted on the suspect’s thighs.

Street value of the drugs is estimated to be MVR 100,000.
