Muizzu: Bribing to replace Speaker of the Parliament is an act of cowardice

Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said that bribing MPs in an attempt to impeach the Speaker of the Parliament, Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed is and act of coward.

The MP for Dhiggaru constituency, Ahmed Faaris Maumoon has been suspected of bribing MPs to acquire signatures for the no confidence motion filed against the Speaker.

Police too, have said that they have received evidence of bribery by MP Faaris.

In a tweet sent out today, Minister Dr. Muizzu said that bribing MPs to impeach the Speaker shows that the oppositions have run out of options.

The oppositions filed a no confidence motion against the Speaker yesterday with 45 signatures.

At the opposition press conference yesterday, Minority Leader, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said that the MPs joined the oppositions for the sake of the country and no one was bribed to do it.
