Police: Evidence MP Faris bribed other MPs

Police has declared they have evidence Dhiggaru MP Ahmed Faris Maumoon bribed fellow People’s Majlis members.

Police Spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Ahmed Shifan said during a press conference at Iskandhar Koshi this Tuesday afternoon that the police were investigating complaints regarding bribes to People’s Majlis members.

Shifan said the police arrested a suspect – Ahmed Shafiu from Sweet Flower in L. Fonadhoo – for actively participating in handing out bribes on Monday night. Shifau is a member of Jumhoory Party.

Shifan said the police will investigate every suspect in the case, regardless of status.

He instructed anyone with information related to the case to share the information with the authority.
