Bangladeshi man mugged

A group has attacked and robbed a Bangladeshi man in Malé City.

Maldives Police Service confirmed the incident at the Henveiru Artificial Beach area on Sunday night around 8:30 p.m.

Social media speculates that the man was attacked by a group of six locals under the age of 18 years while the man was out with his friends celebrating Eid. It is unclear how much money was robbed from the man.

A friend of the victim said that when the attack took place, they called for help from the people in the area but no one came to their aid. Instead they were watching the crime take place.

Police Media Official told Sun Media that the crime was reported to the police and is under investigation.
