Man arrested in attempt to smuggle phones to Maafushi Prison

Maldives Police Service has arrested man early this morning for an attempt to smuggle a large amount of mobile phones into Maafushi Prison.

Police said that they arrested a 30-year-old man but they did not release any further details on the arrest.

On 4 June, police arrested a young woman who attempted to smuggle drugs into the prison.
