Hearing of Meeadh – accused of torching RajjeTV cancelled

The hearing of Mohamed Meeadh from H. Gasvaa in Male’ City – suspect is the torching of RajjeTV – has been cancelled again.

The hearing was cancelled at the request of the State prosecution.

Meeadh is the suspect in the torching of the RajjeTV station – located in the BKT Building at approximately 4:42 am on October 5, 2013. The fire damaged all equipment at the station, as well as all equipment at the Computer Plus warehouse in the building beyond repair.

He has pled “not guilty” to the charge of terrorism pressed by State for the crime.

Police, during the course of their investigation has found burns on his hand believed to be from the torching.

Police built cases against nine suspects in the case, but only Meeadh has been charged.
