Mobile phone of Corporal Mohamed Sumaid – missing after the dinghy boat he was travelling on overturned – has been found, reports Maldives Police Service.
Sumaid, 27, was on a fishing trip in the S. Gan Sea with two other people when the dinghy they were travelling on overturned. The incident took place last Sunday. The two of them swam to Shangrila Resort and survived, while Sumaid went missing.
Maldives Police Service and Maldives National Defense Force launched a search and rescue operation for Sumaid at approximately 8:30, Sunday night.
MPS tweeted on their official Twitter account this Monday that Sumaid’s mobile phone has been found by the MPS search team near an uninhabited island which lays near Shangri-La Resort.
But MNDF reports the mobile phone was found by MNDF’s dive team.
Sumaid was wearing a long-sleeved black jersey and a black tracksuit when he went missing.
