With funds allocated from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) for the government effort to rebuild harbors damaged in the tsunami, the government has announced to find an auditor for the project.
An announcement made by the Ministry of housing and Infrastructure today said that the funding for the second phase of the Tsunami Harbor Reconstruction Project has been acquired from IDB. And so the harbors of ten islands will be built in phase two.
The announcement asks all interested parties to apply for the ministry before the end of official hours on 15 June 2017.
Housing Ministry said that they want a local company or individual for the project. When hiring a consultant, the applicant has to be verified as within the guidelines of Islamic Banking Finance.
On his visit to take part in the IDB annual conference, the Minister of Finance and Treasury, Ahmed Munawar received USD 117 million in aid to the Maldives to be used in different sectors of development.
