Date fruit distribution - One packet per house

Distribution of the date fruits donated to the Maldives by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has begun today.

An announcement made by the Islamic Ministry said that dates will be distributed at a quota rate of one packet per residential home. The ministry said that a document verifying the house will be required before the date packet is given.

THose living at on rent has to bring the original of the rent agreement or the original of the registration of the house or land and the identity card copy of the person accepting the packet.

People living in Malé and Vilimalé will be receiving their share of the distribution through the Housing Ministry. For the people living in Hulhumalé, the mediator will be the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) while the Atoll and Island Councils will be handling the distribution at their respective islands.
