Qasim summoned to police headquarters

Leader of Jumhoory Party (JP), Maamingili MP Qasim Ibrahim has been summoned to police headquarters.

JP’s spokesperson, Ali Solih reported Qasim has been asked to attend the police headquarters at 4 pm, this Wednesday.

Police are investigating Qasim for bribery of parliamentarians, conspiring to stage a coup, creating discord within security forces and the community.

Its most likely Qasim is being summoned so the police can open his mobile phone, which was seized by the authority on Sunday, April 16.

The authority also searched Qasim’s private residence and his office headquarters earlier that day.

Qasim has already been charged with attempted bribery, use of undue influence in executing responsibilities of an electoral position and attempting to influence voters.
