CT scanner at IGMH has been dead for a month

Computerized Tomography (CT) Scanner at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has been out of service for about a month.

The major government hospital in the Maldives said in a Statement published yesterday that the machine went out of service on the 25th of August. It was repaired and re-run, however new problems forced the machine unusable again soon.

“We are trying to repair the machine and restore it to use as soon as possible. The scanner would be fixed during this week, and CT scan services will resume during the next week”, read the statement of IGMH.

IGMH said that as the scanner was under warranty, no additional costs would be incurred in order to repair it.

While IGMH apologized for the inconveniences caused due to the problem, a long queue of people have flocked before ADK Hospital, the only provider of CT scan services in the country other than IGMH, to get scan services. ADK has been struggling for days to meet the demand.
