MP Saud joins the opposition

MP for the Vilingili constituency. Saud Hussain decided to join the former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom saying that he supports the reform project started by the opposition.

Talking on Raajje TV’s 60 Minute program, MP Saud said that he has decided to join the efforts of President Maumoon and stand firm in the cause.

He said that he would continue to do everything to promote President Maumoon and the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).

MP Saud’s decision to join the effort was welcomed by former Presidents Maumoon and Mohamed Nasheed.

While MP Saud has decided to join Maumoon in the opposition, PPM’s ethics committee has recently dismissed the founding member and President, Maumoon from the party for openly working against the party’s goals. The committee also dismissed the MP for Thulusdhoo constituency, Mohamed Waheed (Lawyer Wadde), the MP for Maduvvari constituency, Ahmed Atheem along with the son of Maumoon Abdul Gayoom and the MP for Dhiggaru constituency, Ahmed Faaris Maumoon.
