Autopsy has been done on the body of Maldivian model and medical student Raudha Athif with the permission of her family.
20-year-old Raudha was found dead in her dorm room at Islami Bank Medical College in Rajshahi, Bangladesh on Wednesday, March 29.
Dhaka Tribune reported Raudha was found hanging from the ceiling fan by a group of her friends when they looked in her window after she didn’t come out of her room Wednesday morning.
Assistant Commissioner of Police of Motihar Thana Police Station of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, Sushanta Chandra Roy reported to “Sun” that autopsy was done on Raudha’s body with the permission of her family on Friday.
Roy said the autopsy was done at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
“Medical professionals are currently analyzing the results. The analysis report along with their opinion will be released once the analysis is complete,” said Roy, in his interview with “Sun” on Friday.
A source close to Raudha’s family reported to “Sun” that the family had never refused to have an autopsy done.
Daily Star, along with other Bangladeshi newspapers had reported that Raudha’s family did not want for an autopsy to be done on her body, while other newspapers refuted the reports.
Following the conflicting reports, Maldives Police Service sent out a tweet on their official Twitter account urging the media to be more responsible and respectful towards Raudha’s family.
Raudha rose to fame as a model from the photo by Shifaz Shammoon (Sotti) titled “Maldivian Girl with Aqua Blue Eyes”.
She later featured in the cover of October, 2016 issue of Vogue India.
