Sun Media appointed online media partner for MATATO Travel Awards

Sun Media Group has been appointed as the online media partner for the Travel Awards by the Maldives Association for Travel Agencies and Tour Operators (MATATO).

At a signing ceremony held at Sun Media Group today, the agreement was signed by the Deputy Secretary General of MATATO, Asra Naseem and the General Manager of Sales and Marketing at Sun Media Group, Minha Faiz Rashad.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Deputy Secretary General, Asra said that Sun Media was appointed as the online media partner to bring the news related to the MATATO Travel Awards to the people

She said that there will be four editions of the MATATO Travel Awards this year. They are the People Edition, Guesthouse Edition, Travel Conference and the Gala Night.

The General Manger of Sales and Marketing, Minha, also spoke at the ceremony today saying that while the sixth MATATO Travel Awards is being hosted this year, Sun Media has given a major coverage of the events in the past years as well although not as the media partner.

MATATO Travel Awards 2017

1. People Edition: This is the award celebrating individuals in the tourism sector in the Maldives and the award will be presented at the Travel Trade Maldives (TTM) fair in July. This is the first year for the People Edition.

2. Guesthouse Edition: This is the award in the category of guesthouses in the Maldives and is set to be presented at the Guesthouse Maldives Conference this year. This is the first year for the Guesthouse Edition as well.

3. Travel Conference: The second MATATO travel conference to discuss the different topics of the travel and tourism with the leaders and innovators in the industry will be held on the same day as the MATAO Travel Awards Gala.

4. Gala Night: This would be the final event in the MATATO Travel Awards 2017, the fourth annual Gala Night will be held in November this year where the travel awards will be presented to the winners.
