A 15-hour water supply service interruption is scheduled for some neighborhoods in and near Colombo, Sri Lanka in order to carry out repair work.
Water supply will be cut off from 9 am to 12 midnight coming Wednesday, March 29.
Sri Lankan National Water Supply and Drainage Board reports water will be cut off so work can be carried out to resolve power issues at Ambatale Water Treatment Plant.
Water will be cut off from parts of Colombo district including Colombo City, Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia, Kotte, Kaduwela and nearby Maharagama, Boralesgamuwa, Kolonnawa, Kotikawatta and Mulleriyawa.
Colombo City, Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia and Boralesgamuwa is heavily populated by Maldivians.
Unofficial statistics show approximately 12,000 Maldivians live in neighboring Sri Lanka, most in Dehiwala.
