HPA: Health alert level 3 is not related to closing schools

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said that working with the health alert level 3 is not related to the schools being closed.

A statement issued by the HPA said that the influenza spreading in the country is slowing down and there are only 31 people tested positive for H1N1 and in treatment.

And so there are 26 people in treatment in Malé City and five in the atolls.

When the influenza initially started spreading, there were over 1000 people consulting doctors every day but by the end of Friday, the number went down to 200. HPA noted that some of the flu clinics have been closed since the number of people coming in went down significantly.

HPA repeated their advise against children and those who have flu going out and requested the public to maintain cleaniless.
