The Parliamentary Groups of MDA and the ruling party, PPM have issued a three-line whip to vote against the no-confidence motion against the Speaker of the Parliament, Abdulla Maseeh.
Sources say that 42 members were in attendance in the meeting held tonight at the PPM Office to make the decision.
At the meeting, all members of the PPM and MDA Parliamentary Group were ordered to press the red button to vote against the no-confidence vote set for tomorrow.
Speaking at the PPM/MDA press conference yesterday, the Leader of the PPM Parliamentary Group, Ahmed Nihan said that the no-confidence vote set in motion by the opposition will fail by a great margin.
While 41 MPs were present at the press conference yesterday, it is unclear which members were not in attendance at the meeting tonight.
Jumhooree Party and MDP also issued a three-line whip for the vote tomorrow but in favor of the no-confidence motion.
While the Parliament sitting have been set for 9 a.m. tomorrow, the first on the agenda is the debate which is set for two hours. After which 30 minutes will be given to Maseeh to respond.
