ADK Hospital introduces mobile flu-clinic to battle outbreak

ADK Hospital has announced it will be using a mobile flu-clinic to increase accessibility of those living in Male’ City to healthcare services amid the H1N1 influenza (swine flu) outbreak in the country.

ADK Hospital, the biggest private hospital in the country, recently celebrated its 30th anniversary.

It already has a flu-clinic set up in the building which houses Faculty of Health Sciences of Maldives National University.

The hospital has now announced it will be introducing the services of a mobile flu-clinic this Thursday to increase accessibility of the people living in the city to healthcare.

Services from the mobile flu-clinic will be available this Thursday near the Hulhumale’ Ferry Terminal from 4 pm to 6 pm, and at Local Market from 8 pm to 10 pm.

The schedule of the mobile flu-clinic for the coming days will be released by the hospital, later.

ADK Hospital served 254 patients from its flu-clinic last Wednesday alone.

Latest statistics released by Health Protection Agency show 335 people have been screened for H1N1 influenza, out of whom 105 people have tested positive.

Two people have with H1N1 have dies so far; a 26-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman.
