Police chief fired after nude video goes viral

The officer in charge of L. Gan Police Station has been fired from Maldives Police Service after a nude video of him went viral in social media.

Police media official has confirmed to “Sun” the officer – ranked a Staff Sergeant - has been fired from the agency.

The officer was previously embroiled in a similar scandal when he was caught by locals from G. A. Vilingili in a compromising position with a married woman when he had been working in the G. A. Vilingili Police Station in 2016.

He was transferred to G. A. Gemanafushi after the locals held protests demanding he be banished from the island.

He was later transferred from Gemanafushi to L. Gan and appointed In-charge of L. Gan Police Station.
