BML employees donate MVR 90,000 to 3 NGOs

Bank of Maldives has donated MVR 90,000 which it raised through the annual BML Staff Charity Run to three Non-Governmental Organizations operating in Maldives.

Over 250 employees of BML – led by CEO and Managing Director of BML, Andrew Healy - ran the BML Staff Charity Run which began from BML head office at 6:30 am and ended at Rasfannu Artificial Beach on Friday.

After the run, Healy presented token cheques of MVR 30,000 each to three NGOs – Maldives Deaf Association, Blind and Visually Impaired Society, and Mental Health Awareness Foundation.

BML said the money will be used by the NGOs to plan and execute its awareness programs.

BML recently launched its community campaign “Aharenge Bank” through which the bank will present a community-related initiative or event each day throughout the month of February.

“With 270,000 customers, we already touch the lives of almost every family in the country. ‘Aharenge Bank’ will tell the story of our commitment and our vision. It will show a hardworking bank that is determined to continue to improve and meet the needs of the people we serve. We want you to see this unique Maldivian Bank as your bank, a bank that is there for you - when you want to educate your children, when you want to buy a home, when you want to start a business,” said Healy, regarding the launch of the campaign.
