IGMH: Man injured in Laamu Atoll Link Road on the mend

Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital reports the man injured in the accident in Laamu Atoll Link Road on Friday was showing signs of improvement.

Ibrahim Shakeeb from L. Gan was transported to Male’ City for further treatment on Saturday morning.

An official from IGMH reported that Shakeeb has now been moved from the Emergency Room to the ENT Ward of the hospital. But that the doctors continued to run tests.

Shakeeb sustained serious head and leg injuries in the accident – which also cost the life of Mohamed Rifshan, 27, from L. Gan.

The accident took place at approximately 5:45 pm on Friday at the Maandhoo “bend” in Gan when the two motorcycles the men were on crashed into each other.

Rifshan was dead when taken to Gan Regional Hospital.
