Ministry of Economic Development has announced it will be launching an online payment system for its services in coming March.
Registrar of Companies, Mariyam Wisam said Ministry of Economic Development received a large volume of applications for its services through its online business portal, but that customers were still required to physically go to the ministry headquarters to make the payment.
“You complete one component through the portal, and come to the ministry to complete the other component. We collect a large amount of fees for our services on daily basis. This process is done manually,” noted Wisam.
She said Ministry of Economic Development planned process applications and collect fees through an online system.
Wisam said Ministry of Economic Development will establish the system this February and launch it in March.
“God willing, starting March, businesses will be offered a payment system through the payment gateway without having to come to the ministry. All fees can be paid through the gateway, without having to come to the ministry,” she said.
Ministry of Economic Development recently launched an online token system through mobile application QueueBee as part of its efforts to modernize its services.
