MMPRC denies it received court notice, vows to re-file claim

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has denied that they received a notice from Civil Court to attend the hearing scheduled this Monday in its lawsuit against SOF Private Limited for USD 10.7 million (MVR 165 million).

An official from MMPRC reported to “Sun” that the corporation did not receive notice of the hearing. And that it will be refiling the lawsuit given that it was cancelled by Civil Court.

MMPRC reports it filed the lawsuit after SOF Private Limited refused to pay the USD 10.7 million it owed to MMPRC.

MMPRC requested in its lawsuit that the money be repaid to the corporation in full through the court.

A government official who spoke to “Sun” said the USD 10.7 million was just the amount which paperwork proved former MMPRC management sent to the company.

An Interpol red notice has been issued for Mohamed Allaam Latheef (Moho) – the main shareholder of SOF Private Limited.
