Law Reports MV: Catching up on rulings, laws made easier

Judicial Administration has launched a mobile phone application - Law Reports MV - through which people can read up on laws and regulations, and the latest rulings issued by the High Court and Supreme Court of Maldives.

The application is available for download from both Google Play and Apple App Store.

Judicial Administration promises the application will be of great use to those working in the legal field.

The application shows each and every ruling issued by the High Court and Criminal Court, and clicking on separate laws will provide details on rulings made in reference to the particular law.

In addition to the mobile phone application, Judicial Administration has also launched a website via which users will be able to read up on laws and regulations used in Maldives.

Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed previously commented that laws, procedures and past rulings was one of the most important basis in issuing verdicts, and that past rulings and records would be shared using information technology.

“Laws, procedures and records is one of the most important basis when making a decision. We will share the records and rulings using information technology,” said Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed.

With the mobile application, users can view all case reports from one platform.

Judicial Administration reports its working on integrating rulings by lower courts into the application as well.
