Foreigners receiving tourist visa no longer eligible for special visa

Department of Immigration and Emigration has made a decision that would make the foreigners who receive tourist visa would no longer be eligible for special visa.

An announcement made by Immigration today said that foreigners coming to the Maldives on internships must complete the form and submit three days, excluding holidays, before arriving in the country.

Immigration said that lately many foreigners are arriving on tourist visa and applying for special visa as interns.

The change have been in effect since yesterday according to the Department of Immigration.
