Couple found dead are buried in shared grave

Married couple found dead in their apartment in M. Light Signal in Male’ City on Sunday afternoon have been buried in a shared grave in Aasaharaa Cemetery.

47-year-old Qasim Shahid and 42-year-old Razeena Ibrahim were found dead on Sunday afternoon, January 8, in their bedroom by family members who grew concerned after they failed to see the couple after they went to their bedroom to sleep on Saturday night.

They were buried after funeral processions at Aasahara on Monday after afternoon prayer – attended by a large number of people.

A postmortem was ruled out, but the police reports that the couple were buried after officers were done collecting all the necessary information.

Police has not yet made any official comment regarding cause of death.

Neither Shahid nor Razeena had any injuries visible on their body.

The couple – originally from Th. Vilufushi – are survived by three children – a girl and two boys.
