Hearing scheduled for this Monday in the trial of RajjeTV reporter Mohamed Wisam was cancelled after his attorney failed show up to the courthouse.
The hearing was scheduled at Criminal Court for 11 am, and was cancelled after defense attorney Abdulla Haseen failed to show up by noon.
Court was scheduled to hear testimony from the defense’s witnesses.
Haseen reported that he was unable to attend the hearing because he had another hearing scheduled for the same time at Civil Court.
Reporter Wisam has been charged with obstructing a police officer from performing his duty.
He is accused of questioning and obstructing police officers who attempted to arrest a protestor during a demonstration organized by the opposition on March 25, 2015.
The next hearing in the trial is scheduled for January 18.
Wisam has another obstruction charge against him in another incident, which’s sentence is set to be delivered on January 26.
