Funeral for couple found dead to be held after afternoon prayer

Police reports the bodies of the married couple found dead in their apartment in M. Light Signal will be buried after afternoon prayer this Monday.

The funeral procession for 47-year-old Qasim Shahid and 42-year-old Razeena Ibrahim will be held at the Aasaharaa mosque in Male’ City after the afternoon prayer.

Qasim and Razeena were found dead on Sunday afternoon, January 8, in their bedroom by family members who grew concerned after they failed to see the couple after they went to their bedroom to sleep on Saturday night.

The couple lived in the apartment in M. Light Signal with their three children – two boys and a girl.

The reason for their death is unclear and their bodies reportedly showed no signs of visible injuries.

Police reported that their investigation will continue despite the decision to bury them.

Both Qasim Shahid and Razeena Ibrahim were originally from Th. Vilufushi.
