Minister: Target for 2017 – technological revolution to education

Minister of Education, Dr. Aishath Shiham has pledged to expand integration of technology in education of school students during the academic new year, 2017.

Minister Aishath Shiham made the pledge during her address to mark the start of the academic new year this Sunday, January 8.

In her address, Aishath Shiham said that it was the mission of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s government for the academic year 2017 to use modern technology to revolutionize education.

She said Ministry of Education was working on integrating more schools into the video conferencing network to boost the swap of knowledge and expertise.

“As such, students will receive the knowledge and skills of the 21st century without a hitch… I note with happiness that this is an important opportunity to for students to develop their skills and knowledge,” said Aishath Shiham.

She said that the academic year 2017 will be a successful one with students able to reach new heights and make achievements on the international platform. And asked that schools, teachers, parents and students resolve to persevere in making 2017 a successful year.
