Dunya appointed to the Health Ministry as State Minister

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed the resigned Foreign Minister, Dunya Mamoon has been appointed at a State Minister at the Health Ministry.

Spokesperson of the President’s Office, Muaz Ali has confirmed the appointment to Sn Media.

After her resignation from the Foreign Ministry, Dunya has openly criticized some of the policies of the government.

In a statement issued after her resignation, Dunya said that she resigned over the difference of opinion regarding the death penalty.

While the daughter of the former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has been appointed as a State Minister, his son, Ghassan Maumoon is currently the Ministry at the President’s Office.

The former President has retracted his support for the government of President Yameen saying that he never again would he give his support to the government.
