Foreign fishing boat found and rescued in Maldives territory

A foreign fishing boat has been found stranded within the Maldivian borders with two men onboard.

Media Officer of MNDF, Captain Ibrahim Azim said that the MNDF has been mobilized after they were notified of the fishing boat which was discovered by the yellowfin tuna fishing boat, “Kandu Roadhi”.

MNDF said that the boat was discovered with two men around 3:45 p.m. today about 30 miles out of Haa Alifu Atoll Thuraakunu.

The two are in a good state according to the MNDF, and they are working to identify the nationalities.
