Occupancy rate of safaris have gone up to 98 percent with the influx of tourists visiting Maldives for New Year.
Secretary-General of Liveaboard Association of Maldives (LAM), Mohamed Ignaz reported to “Sun” this Wednesday that the large influx of tourists visiting Maldives for the New Year had pushed occupancy rate of safaris to the near limit.
Ignaz reported that occupancy rate of the 160 safaris operating in Maldives were up 98 percent, with no end to the continued demand.
Occupancy rate of safaris had gone up to 100 percent during the New Year 2016, and the same is expected for New Year 2017.
Many of the rich and famous have arrived in Maldives for the New Year, including footballer David Beckam and his family.
This New Year will also see 53 private jets parking in Velana International Airport – a record number.
