Riyaz Rasheed says knife lodged into door of his apartment

Leading ruling party, Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) lawmaker, Vilifushi MP Riyaz Rasheed says a knife was lodged into the door of his apartment.

Pictures posted by the MP on his official Twitter account this Wednesday morning show multiple stab marks surrounding the knife lodged into the door.

Riyaz Rasheed is unavailable for comment at the moment, and it is therefore unclear which of his apartments the knife was found from.

Riyaz Rasheed, who is Deputy Leader of Parliamentary Group of PPM, warned on Twitter that he cannot be intimidated by such attacks.

He also said that it wasn’t the first time for him to be threatened with a knife, adding that he was threatened twice by a group of individuals last Tuesday night.

Police media official confirms no formal complaint over the alleged incident has been filed with the authorities.
