MMA to be closed on December 29

Maldivian central bank, Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has announced it will be closed on December 29.

MMA announced that Wednesday, December 28 will be the last working day of the year for the central bank. And that Thursday, December 29 will be closed.

All services will be unavailable, including sale of USD to Maldivians travelling out of the country – which MMA took over in November.

MMA will continue sale of USD to travelers until January 8, after which the service will be available from the airport.
