Ambassadors have been appointed to head Maldivian diplomatic missions in three countries; Japan, Singapore and Germany.
The ambassadors are:
1. Mohamed Hussain Shareef:
A former Minister of President’s Office, he has been appointed Maldivian ambassador to Japan. He was provided backing by People’s Majlis on August 16 with the vote of 63 members.
2. Hamdhoon Abdulla Hameed:
A former Minister of Planning, he has been appointed Maldivian ambassador to Singapore. He was provided backing by People’s Majlis on October 18 with the vote of 49 members.
3. Jameela Ali Khalid:
A former member of Civil Service Commission, she has been appointed Maldivian ambassador to Germany. She was provided backing by People’s Majlis on October 18 with the vote of 50 members.
The new ambassadors were given their credentials by President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom during a function held at President’s Office, this Monday morning.
