Civil Court has ruled that politician Alhan Fahmy no longer has any grounds to sue Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) over internal issues as he is no longer a member of the party.
Civil Court issued the ruling this Monday, December 19.
Alhan had filed the lawsuit claiming MDP wasn’t appointing members to its electoral position as is prescribed in its Constitution.
MDP informed the court that Alhan was no longer a member of the party, and therefore did not have the grounds to file a lawsuit over such a claim.
Civil Court said that documents by Elections Commission showed Alhan had been removed from MDP on November 28. And that Alhan therefore did not have the grounds to press a lawsuit over electing a Leader to MDP.
