Fazeel to be transported to Male’, flesh from stomach torn open

Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital reports that the man from Sh. Feevah, Abdulla Fazeel, 32, - who was hit in the stomach by a fly-away flywheel from the engine of a dinghy – was in critical condition and needed to be transported to Male’ City for further treatment.

Fazeel was travelling from Sh. Feevah to Sh. Foakaidhoo on a dinghy when the outboard engine exploded and he was hit by a fly-away flywheel from the engine.

The incident took place last Saturday.

Manager of Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital, Ibrahim Waheed reported to “Sun” this Sunday morning that Fazeel was still in critical condition, and that the flywheel had caused extensive damage.

The hospital reports that any further comment regarding the extent of Fazeel’s injuries will be released after the doctors submit their report.

“The soft flesh in the stomach is completely cut open. He is in critical condition. We are working on transporting him to Male’,” said Ibrahim Waheed.

Fazeel is being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital.
