Arif: PPM Office can be run under President Yameen as per court order

Spokesperson of PPM, Ali Arif has said that according to the Civil Court ruling to hand over PPM to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, the office of the party must be run under the supervision of President Yameen.

Arif, also the MP for Kelaa constituency, told Sun Media that another person cannot run the party office after a court order has been issued to hand over the party to President Yameen.

He said that to take over the party office, the admin team has now gone to the PPM Office.

Regarding the issue, the MP for Thulusdhoo constituency and Vice President of the PPM’s Maumoon faction, Mohamed Waheed Ibrahim (Lawyer Wadde) said that said that the Yameen faction does not have a court order.

Wadde said that the Civil Court ordered to hand over the running of PPM until a Council Meeting could be held, and a meeting was held within 24 hours as per the court order.

And that there was no mention of the PPM Office or what is inside the office.

He said that the owner of the land on which the PPM office is, H. Themaa, is given to an individual and does not belong to PPM.
