Inmate brought to Malé Jail escapes

An inmate who was brought to Malé City Jail has escaped.

Correctional Service said that he man who escaped was Hamza Mohamed who was sentenced to 24-days for Civil Disobedience.

He escaped today around 5:10 p.m.

Maldives Correctional Service has advised that anyone with information on the man’s whereabouts to contact the Police.
