Civil Court has issued a temporary ruling banning any company other than Meridium Service Private Limited from supplying fuel to Maldives Ports Limited.
Meridium filed a lawsuit against MPL claiming violation of agreement for allowing another company to supply fuel to MPL.
Civil Court issued a temporary ruling this Tuesday citing an agreement made between Meridium and MPL on April 17, 2016 for supply of diesel to vehicles used by MPL in its site, as well as its vessels.
It said that that Meridum therefore had legal grounds to make its case.
Meridium has claimed MPL allowing a third party to supply it with fuel would result in an unrecoverable loss Meridium.
Civil Court issued the ruling banning any company other than Meridium from supplying fuel to MPL until the issue is resolved in court.
