MP Abdulla Abdul Raheem leaves DRP and joins JP

Member of Parliament Abdullah Abdul Raheem, who recently ditched the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) in favor of Divehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP) has left DRP, to join the Jumhoory Party (JP).

Abdullah Abdul Raheem represents Maafannu Hulhangu Constituency, Malé, in the People’s Majlis.

According to a report from JP, Abdullah joined the Party on Tuesday, last week.

Abdullah won his parliamentary seat as a Member of DRP. However, he left DRP to join MDP during the last year. He left MDP to rejoin DRP in March this year.

With Abdullah, Hassan Adil, another parliamentarian of MDP, also signed for JP. Hassan won his seat as a Member of the Qawmee Party (QP).

In addition to Abdullah and Hassan, Alhan Fahmy, MP for Feydhoo Constituency, and Shifaq Mufeed, MP for Fuvammulah Medhu Constituency have also recently left former President Nasheed’s MDP, to join JP and Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM) respectively.

JP now has a total of six parliamentarians in it.
