25 people have been enrolled in Dhiraagu’s Apprenticeship Program – a program which aims at training young men and women and providing them with experience.
The Apprenticeship Program is a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of the telecom company and provides opportunities to young men and women between ages of 18 to 24 years each year.
Dhiraagu has trained 149 apprentices since the program was first launched, back in 2009.
The 25 people chosen for this year’s program were given their certificate of enrollment by CEO and Managing Director of Dhiraagu, Ismail Rasheed, in a ceremony held at Dhiraagu head office.
Dhiraagu’s Apprenticeship Program is run in its office in Male’ and operating centers in eight regions across the country. The program will cover sales, marketing, procurement, human resource, finance, information system, networks and customer solutions.
Apprentices will also be trained on ethics, time management, communication skills, and job interview skills.
During the enrollment ceremony, CEO Ismail Rasheed thanked all the staff of Dhiraagu who spend long hours lecturing and training the apprentices.
He also expressed hope to widen the scope of the program further and provide more diverse training to the apprentices.
