Shafeeq appointed CEO of LGA

Mohamed Shafeeq Mahmood has been appointed CEO of Local Government Authority (LGA).

An official from LGA informed “Sun” that the decision was made during a LGA meeting held last Wednesday.

The official who spoke to “Sun” said that Shafeeq was appointed as per official procedure, after a public announcement opening application for the vacancy.

Past high ranking positions filled by Shafeeq includes Managing Director of Maldives Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) and CEO of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).

The position of CEO of LGA was left vacant after Farooq Mohamed Hassan was removed from the post.
