Aid of Rf1 million received from Pakistan

Maldives has received aid of Rf1 million from the Pakistan government.

It was presented by the High Commissioner of Pakistan His Excellency Akhtar Ali Sulehri, and accepted by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dhunya Maumoon at a ceremony held at Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday.

According to the Ministry, the money will be used to construct a three-storey library in Th. Guraidhoo. The library will consist of meeting rooms, books for all ages and a children’s area.

The High Commissioner of Pakistan said at the ceremony that the library would benefit the people of Th. Atoll, and expressed hope that the library will be put to good use.

Dhunya Maumoon thanked the Pakistan government for the assistance, and also expressed gratitude to the High Commissioner for his efforts to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.
