1 injured in accident near Hithadhoo garbage dump

A man was injured in accident which took place near S. Hithadhoo garbage dump on Saturday morning – which, coincidently, is on fire.

Police reported that the accident took place when a man driving a motorbike hit a water hose being used by firefighters to put out the fire in the garbage dump.

“We had the area blocked using barricades. The motorbike came through the barricades,” said a police official.

The extent of the injuries in not clear at this point.
