Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC) is constructing the roads of R. Meedhoo – part of the large project to improve the quality of roads in islands across the country.
Media official of MRDC, Shareef Mohamed spoke to “Sun” and said that the work in R. Meedhoo was officially launched on August 30, and that the work was progressing as per schedule.
Shareef said that the workers were currently installing sewerage junctions on the island.
“…and then they will construct the roads. That too is part of the road construction work. We will hopefully complete the road construction work in R. Meedhoo by the scheduled date,” said Shareef.
The MVR 30 million project was contracted to MRDC by Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure on June 16, 2016.
The company needs to construct six roads in Meedhoo using asphalt and complete the entire project within one year’s time.
