Maldives Immigration has revoked the passports of six more Maldivians; including self-exiled Chairperson of Maldivian Democratic Party - Ali Waheed and shareholder of SOF - Mohamed Allaam Latheef (Moho) – implicated in the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) embezzlement scandal.
Maldives Immigration made the announcement this Thursday, noting that Maldivians hiding from the law did not have the right to use Maldivian passports for travel.
The 6 people who had their passports revoked are:
• Ali Waheed, Bandharuge, H. Dh. Kulhudhuffushi

Authorities had not announced a summons for Ali Waheed before, but the rest of the individuals whose passports were revoked have Interpol red notices issued for their arrest.

Maldives Immigration said in their statement that any of the individuals who wished to voluntarily return to Maldives may contact them through Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and would be supplied with travel documents.
The authority said that the fact that their passports had been revoked was conveyed to countries they were staying in, and that Maldivian Immigration would not bear any responsibility of difficulties they may face in travelling.
Immigration had also revoked the passports of five more Maldivians earlier in September. They are:
• Mohamed Nasheed, Former Maldivian President
• Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed, Former Maldivian Vice President and Leader of Maldives United Opposition
• Akram Kamaaluddin, Former State Minister
• Abdulla Luthfy, fugitive sentenced to life for the November 3, 1988 militant attack
